Project Background

Town flower operates an innovative platform that streamlines the floral delivery process, connecting customers with local florists and ensuring efficient, timely deliveries.

Goal

Townflower is a comprehensive platform that enables users to purchase flowers from a variety of flowerists. The platform is comprised of several different user types, including the super admin, hub admin, flowerists, CSR, non-app users, and drivers. The super admin is responsible for managing the entire platform, while the hub admin has the privilege of managing their own hubs. Flowerists are users who own shops and package flowers for distribution to customers, while CSR provides customer support through chat interactions. Once a dispatch is made, drivers deliver the product to the customer's location, with delivery scheduling and route mapping provided to ensure efficient delivery.

Hubs are locations where a list of cities is added to cater to deliveries for customers. Each hub has its own inventory, with different flower categories and subcategories mapped from a catalog. During seasonal occasions, flowers mapped to a hub can be overridden. Customers can place orders through various channels, including different websites, and orders are routed to the desired hubs near their location. Orders can also be captured directly from customers through phone calls and recorded in the system. Customers added to the system are identified as general customers or household customers. Household customers are regular customers who have the privilege of paying later against an invoice sent.

The overall time taken for the development of the project is 24 months.

Challenges

Throughout the development of this comprehensive platform, we faced several challenges:

  • Creating a map view that enables the assignment of jobs to drivers and provides the destination for their travel.
  • Setting up an efficient route for drivers to deliver goods to customers.
  • Establishing effective communication channels for users to interact with customers.
  • Implementing a feature that keeps platform users updated from the moment they receive a customer order until the delivery of the flowers.
